They have the right to their opinions but they don’t have a right to force them on others as they did with Dervish and others who haven’t talked about what happened openly. That type of bullying is used by pro-Palestinian groups around the world. I think people need to keep an eye on their conduct as its exceeding clear boundaries.

Its pretty clear at this stage that many pro-Palestinians have crossed a line, from being sympathesisers, to contributing to the conflict. Witness their contribution to supposedly “peaceful” demonstrations (the Orwellian language!) such as at Bil’in, and leaders like Ken O’Keefe engaging violently with the IDF. It echoes their wish for a Rwandan ‘one-state’ solution, ending Israel as a principally Jewish state.

Yeah the Republican movement was tied in with Palestinianism. Its forgotten how very close the IRA was with Arafat, and still Sein Fein always has to have a Palestinian rep at each Ard Fheis it seems.Rob Harrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11161685434804636265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4528246176614662587.post-63759403971902839192012-05-31T18:41:20.035+01:002012-05-31T18:41:20.035+01:00Ok, I'll take back what I said about Dervish, ...Ok, I'll take back what I said about Dervish, although the loons in the IPSC need to be confronted. Sinister, ref your point about the Shinners... And your right about the tumbleweeds of course. You'd have a better chance of the Papal Nuncio penning a three-year contract with Glasgow Rangers than the IPSC condemning their genocidal mates in Hamas.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4528246176614662587.post-22109845404003288232012-05-30T17:07:35.981+01:002012-05-30T17:07:35.981+01:00Good point about Hamas. I'm sure there will be plenty of support for a boycott of Hamas amongst those like the IPSC who care so much about Palestinian welfare, and want an end to terrorism but hang on... [tumbleweed blowing by].

It is a shame Dervish cancelled but I wouldn't go as far as to call them wimpish as the IPSC really do know how to play dirty. In Ireland pro-Palestinianism seems to have an added air of aggressive militancy, perhaps due to ties with the Republican movement. I have heard a few very nasty stories, which even made longtime supporters of Israel reluctant to speak up openly.

At least Dervish were honest about the reasons for the cancellation and didn't invent some ideological justification, unlike that bullshitter Elvis Costello. I hope Dervish change their mind someday.

Aosdana have had a strange relationship with Israel and Jews for a long time. Witness the failure to censure Francis Stweart, who never once regreted his role as a Nazi propagandist.Rob Harrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11161685434804636265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4528246176614662587.post-26605463967570588482012-05-30T11:18:08.410+01:002012-05-30T11:18:08.410+01:00It's a pity that the wimpish Dervish backed do...It's a pity that the wimpish Dervish backed down in the face of the on line enablers of IPSC's campaign of intimidation and bullying of Irish artists. What has Aosdana to say about Gerard Donovan's claim in last Saturday's Irish Times that IPSC chief Raymond Dean - who is trousering taxpayers money via Aosdana - is intimidating Irish artists into complying with the Orwellian demands of the IPSC. Meantime, I call on Irish artists to server any cultural ties with Gaza, which is ruled by a group, namely Hamas, which calls for the destruction of Israel and the murder of millions of Jews. Hamas also embraces the racist Protocols of the Elders of Zion and call for homosexuals to be publically executed. Christopher Hitches, in one of the last pieces he wrote before he died, described the Protocols of the Elders of Zion as a blueprint for Genocide. Still, and despite the above, the IPSC are in cahoots with Hamas.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
